HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS IN KANSAS CITY, BLUE SPRINGS, INDEPENDENCE, GRAIN VALLEY, PLEASANT HILL, LONE JACK AND LEE'S SUMMIT, MISSOURI
Kathy Murphy has ridden and shown since early childhood where she began her career in the hills of California.
After running speed events and working races horses in Chicago, Kathy moved into western pleasure, hunter under saddle and hunter over fences, showmanship, trail, horsemanship, and equitation. Her students ride in both Western and English divisions competing for all-around titles. Showing on the AQHA circuit, Kathy and her daughter have had the honor of qualifying horses and subsequently showing and placing at World finals. Kathy’s daughter, Kristen, recently finished graduate school is no longer in the Midwest so Kathy devotes most of her free time training horses and students of all ages.
Kathy's philosophy is safety first, fun and take something new with you each ride instilling a partnership between rider and horse. Each student is guided and prepared on an individual basis with his or her own goals in mind whether it be safe trial riding or showing. Students work with lesson horses, their own horses or a combination. Kathy has learned over many years while working with her daughter and hundreds of students, lessons and horse ownership instill compassion, responsibility, confidence, fun and leadership. Kathy’s students also have formed bonds with each other and show horses and grow together. Through their shared love for horses, some of her students have become lifelong friends.
Kathy is a certified riding instructor in the western and hunter under saddle (English) disciplines. Riding Lessons are conducted at a facility in Lee's Summit, Missouri which includes a large indoor and outdoor arena. Adults and children are welcome for pleasure riding or goals including showing. Kathy conducts clinics in the all-around divisions and judges. Gentle horses are provided. Boarding is available. Haul-in lessons are welcome.
